Walls

Redemption: Walls

Every day you build the wall and I’m trying to break through.
Brick by brick I’ll tear it down until I reach the other side and you.
You’ve made us prisoners and I’m trying to set us free.
But the final stones between us could be the very ones placed there by me.

Thank you Nick for this song.

The Making of The Wicker Man

Step one:
Take a Judas Priest song that isn’t their biggest hit but still decent enough.

Running Wild vs The Wicker Man

Step two:
Take a Queensrÿche song that isn’t their biggest hit but still decent enough.

Spreading The Disease vs The Wicker Man

Step three:
Take a post 80s Maiden era like dumb chorus line that your singer can repeat endlessly. “Your time will come” will perfectly do it. There you have a new Iron Maiden song. Enjoy!

Memories of War

It’s been 10 years since the NATO bombings of Belgrade, capital of Serbia (also Yugoslavia back then) and there are still a few buildings in the city centre that were left untouched to remind people of the horror of war. One of them is the Federal Police building that was hit during the night between the 29th and 30th of April in 1999.

Caller from the Past

The following phone conversation happened between me and an old schoolmate of mine that I haven’t seen for years:

Caller: Hi.
Me: Hey, long time no hear.
Caller: Where is my Metal Church CD?
Me: What?
Caller: I lent it to you a few years ago.
Me: No, you did not.
Caller: Are you sure?
Me: Yes.
Caller. Ah, okay. How is the family?

When Singers Fail

Stratovarius’ very own Timo Kotipelto established a new musical genre on the band’s brand new album. When Mountains Fall is a prime example of what should be called a “necrophiliac power metal ballad”. Never had sex in a cemetery? Never even dreamed about it? You’re so old fashioned! Stratovarius is breaking down all the taboos to show you the real deal. Listen to the song closely @ 1:55 to find out more about the topic.

“Finally I found your pace, sadly I came three summers late. Now I am seeding by your grave, and I sing this song for you.”
